They’re not called “Yahoo” for nothing

So, we get this from Yahoo today:

Yahoo - June 23, 2008

“Anti-Kerry book publisher?” Really? I thought the name of the company was “Regnery”. Nobody told me that they had changed their name to The Anti-Kerry Book Publishing Company, LLC. Not that I necessarily object to this name, but it doesn’t exactly roll trippingly of the tongue.

“Conservative publisher” would have been OK. “Publisher” or “author” would have avoided any partiality altogether. “Anti-Kerry book publisher” pretty much tells the reader that it’s OK to read this story, if you must, but don’t pay much attention to it, because it’s about a bunch of right-wing nut jobs. Sweet.

Liberal media bias? Not here. Nope.

  2. The only bias reporting I hear about comes from Fox. CNN, NBC, ABC, NPR, and fine objective reporters like Keith Olbermann, Chris “Tingly Pants” Matthews, George ‘Sactimonious’ Stepahopoulis, amd The Daily Kos are fine objective journalist and bloggers.

I also believe in Santa Claus, Loch Ness Monster, the Tooth fairy, and that Barack Obama will unite us all!

Now it’s time to get back to the Everclear!

  4. Whomever you are my dear Pubicus, please don’t let me get on your bad side. You should be aware, that – depending on the state in which you live – your sarcastic skill may need to be registered as a lethal weapon.

Alright I’ll admit that calling Regnery a “bunch of right-wing nut jobs” would be a little over the top, Yahoo doesn’t know that they are ALL nutjobs. But, after all, you said it, not Yahoo. Yahoo said they published an anti-Kerry book – a truthful statement.
If instead they had said the following, there would be no issue of bias:
“Regnery, a publishing company specializing in specious right-wing extremist propaganda has annouced it will publich a pack of lies smearing Senator Barack Obama by infamous con artist and bigot Jerome Corsi.”
    There, isn’t that better.
